Neoptolemos Antzas was born in 1983. He studied systematic musicology at the University of Athens and higher theory (fugue) with the composer Dimitris Makropodis. He also studied piano with Chrysanthos Alissafis and oboe with Dimitris Vamvas, as well as orchestral writing with Noel Tredinnick, Professor at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
His professional activities include teaching music in primary and secondary public education, as well as teaching the subjects he has studied in conservatoires. His research activity at the University of Athens includes the publication and analysis of works by Greek composers. His artistic activity includes conducting the symphony orchestra and choir of the Lutheran Church at 50 Amalias Street in Athens, for which he has arranged and composed religious music, as well as collaborating with the All Souls Orchestra in concerts at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
