Raftopoulou Alkistis-Piano

He was born in Athens. He studied piano at the Athens Conservatory of Music with Mary Rota. In 1999 she received her Diploma from the Contemporary Conservatory of Athens with a grade of Excellent Unanimous. She also studied French Literature at the Université de Bourgogne (Dijon) in France, where she graduated in 1994.

In 1998-99 she participated in the theatrical performance Odyssebach by Xenia Kalogeropoulou, produced by the Municipal Theatre of Argyroupolis. In 2002 he wrote music for a series of educational books by Evangelia Georgantzis entitled The Literary Heroes, which is taught in schools in Greece and abroad.

In 2003 he composed and orchestrated for the play The Dream of the Scarecrow by Eugene Trivizas, which was staged by the Municipal Theatre of Argyroupolis and in the same year he set poems by Konstantinos Cavafy to music, which were performed in the Ceremonial Hall of the Philological Association “Parnassos” and at the Cultural Centre of Agios Stefanos. In 2005 he participated in the concert cycle “Recital between two pianos” organized by the Conservatory “Philip Nakas” and the magazine “Diphone”, in the framework of which (in collaboration with Despina Stephanidou) he arranged and performed songs for two pianos, which were sung by Katie Koullia.

Since 2008 he is a member (with Fotis Mylonas and Socrates Ganiaris) of the music group Vice Versa, which combines original musical compositions and selected arrangements of songs and instrumental music from all over the world. He has participated in concerts and recordings with jazz, rock and art music groups. He has collaborated with Orpheus Peridis, Sotiria Leonardou, Martha Moreleon, Petros Dourdubakis, Stavros Papastavrou, Thanasis Gaifillias, Leda Halkiadakis, Gerasimos Andreatos, Sofia Papazoglou, Morpho Tsairelis, Vassilis Yisdakis, the “Makrina Xadelfia” etc. He has also collaborated, both as a performer and arranger, with the musical ensemble “Odoiporoi” by Giorgos Makaris.

He has collaborated with the Carriage-Theatre “The Train in Rouf” and Tatiana Ligari since 1998 for the performances: Agnieszka Osiecka’s Longing for Cherries (1998-99), You want trees to blossom, you want to wither, music-theatre performance (2002-03), Agathi Dimitrouka’s Another Train Love, musical performance (orchestrations and music editing, 2006-07), Around the world in 30 songs with the musical ensemble “The Garden of Eden” (2010-11), The Space Train of Mr. Ignatius Rodolfos de Los Hupa Gloupa by Elias Mamalakis (original music composition, 2011-12). Finally, in the 2011-12 season he presented with Vice Versa and choreographer Pepi Zacharopoulou the original performance Fa(K)ebook Stories at the Orient Express Music Wagon of the Train in Rouf Train Theatre.
