Maro Dovelou was born in Athens. She began her musical studies at the National Conservatory of Music, where she received her Diploma in Guitar (class of K. Gregorea) with a grade of Excellent Unanimous and first prize (2001). She continued her musical studies in Advanced Theory, while she attended seminars on guitar, early music, theatre, storytelling, and puppet making and animation.
In 2016 she was introduced to Colourstrings music education. After meeting its creator and inspirer, Geza Szilvay, and attending seminars in Helsinki (Introduction to the Colourstrings Music Kindergarten course) and Edinburgh (Colourstrings Music Kindergarten, Phase 1), she began working with Yannis Athanasoulas to adapt the pedagogy to the guitar and the Greek repertoire.
He is a founding member of the music storytelling group mayaly, has organised and presented musical events and performances for pre-school and primary school children, and has performed in concerts as part of a guitar duo.
