Melodramatic, Opera Workshop
The course is addressed to the students of monody of the School of Superior of all conservatories as well as Graduates and Diploma holders of the School of Monody.

Musical Preparation.

Course in body expressiveness, speech and movement.
In the course expressive of the body, speech and movement is addressed to actors, dancers and singers.

Petros Gallias was born in Corfu in 1968. He began his musical and dance studies in his hometown. During the three years 1982-85 he choreographed for the Corfu Experimental Drama Company and participated in many European meetings and festivals of young and teenage creators, in the parallel capacity of composer and dancer, winning awards such as the Best Young Performer Award (Bulgaria, 1982), First Prize for Composition and Presentation of a Work (Syros, 1983), Prize for Original Conception of a Work and First Prize for Performer (Norway, 1984; Vatican, 1984; Paris, 1985).

He attended dance classes at the State School of Orchestral Art and seminars in Greece and abroad (1986-90). In 1993 he graduated from the Higher School of Dramatic Art of the National Theatre and starred in the film End of the Era by Antonis Kokkinos.

He worked extensively with the independent theatre (1991-2004), as well as with the Athens Concert Hall, the Athens Festival, the National Theatre, the D.I.P.T.E. Corfu and Roumeli, etc. He choreographed 72 plays, 34 operas, 27 choreographic works, 4 mixed shows, etc.

He collaborated with famous directors, singers and composers. He taught body expression at the Athens College Choreographic Club (1997-2001), at the Actors’ Workshop of the National Theatre (1999-2001), as well as in seminars. He founded the Heros Angelos Dance Theatre for which he choreographed many dance dramas (1993-2004).

He is a member of the Greek section of the International Dance Council of UNESCO and a founding member and president of the Association of Greek Choreographers.

He is a permanent collaborator of Carmen Rouggeri. He collaborated with the GNO between 1997 and 2010 as choreographer for the productions The Cursed Serpent, Nabucco, Don Giovanni and Rigoletto.

He also choreographed the co-production of the opera La serva padrona (2006-07, co-produced by the GNO and Athens Chamber Opera).
