Maria Mylaraki was born in Thessaloniki. She attended piano lessons at the age of seven under the teacher K. Asteriadou. She received the Piano Diploma from the class of Α. Kounio with honours (the highest distinction). She continued her studies at the Music and Dramatic Arts University of Graz, Austria KUG (Universität für Musikund darstellende Kunst Graz), where she graduated from the class of Prof.Anna Maria Bodoky- Krause, receiving her first piano diploma and postgraduate degree “Magistra der Künste” (Master of Art) with honours, wining First Prize. Moreover, she acquired her second postgraduate degree “Magistra der Künste” (Master of Art) with honors in Piano-Champer Music from the class of Prof. Chia Chou (Trio Parnassus) and is
registered in the class of Ph.D. Furthermore, she was awarded scholarships from both the Ministry of Education and Culture of Austria and I.K.Y (State Scholarships Foundation, Greece).
She participated in seminars with Julia and Konstantin Ganev, Katerina and Gianna Polizoidou, M. Tirimo, G. Xatziniko. M. Asteriadou, B. Fredriksen, G.Weichert at (European Piano Teachers Association), (EPTA), M. Bilson (Hammerklavier seminar), Thomas Duis, Rudolf Kehrer, Regis Bringlof, Martin Hornstein, Florian Berner, Elisabeth Baich, Georg Hamann and in the Contemporary Music Workshops, «Impuls» under the (artistic) direction of Beat Furrer. She was honored with awards herself but also with the «Trio Tritonous» ensemble (founding member) in Greece and in International chamber music competitions. Her first appearance with an orchestra was at the age of thirteen, performing the second concert of L.v.Beethoven. Since then, she has performed solo recitals, performances with orchestra and other various ensembles of chamber music in Greece, Hungary, Austria, Germany, Italy. Additionally, she carried out concerts
with &”Trio Tritonous” at the «Live Music Now- Yehudi Menuhin», in Stefaniensaal Musikverein Graz (Austria), Bludenz Festival, Leopold Museum Wien, Alte Schmiede – Wien. She also performed in the Festival of Ancient Corinth, Thessaloniki Festival “Dimitria”, Thessaloniki Concert Hall, Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), Foundation of Kakoyiannis, presenting Greek and Austrian composers of contemporary music as well as in the cultural centre of contemporary music «Kultruzentrum bei Minoriten-Austria» and Opernhaus Graz, performing the “Trio 80minutes” of Morton Feldman. She has also interpreted numerous works in premières and carried out recordings for the Austrian State Radio (ORF) and Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT). Moreover, she has played with string quartet “Aimilios Riadis”, with the choir of ERT under the button of Nikolas Vassiliou, she also collaborated with conductors such as Martin Sieghart, Mirga Grazinyte, Nassir Heidarian, Edo Micic, Karolos Trikolidis as solist but also as a member of various ensembles of contemporary music ((Blasorchester der Kunst
Universität Graz, Ensemble Zeitfluss etc.). She is member of Piandaemonium – an ensemble consisting of six pianos – twelve pianists.
She has been a teacher in several conservatories such as Prefectural Conservatory of Florina under the direction of Domna Eunouxidou, in the New Conservatory of Thessaloniki, the State Conservatory of Thessaloniki and the Musikschule Gratwein – Austria, Musikschule Hausmannstaetten- Austria. From 2009 until 2012, she held a lecturer position in the music department of the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki. From 2016 she is teaching Piano in Athens Conservatoire, Athenaeum Conservatoire- International Cultural Center and Sychrono Odeio of Athens.
